February 19. A nice couple.

From a Gaborone gas station we find transport into town and to the house of our hosts, Mr. Weeks and his wife. From the minibus taxi, we get a glimpse of Gaborone, not yet knowing that there isn't much more than a glimpse to that city, before we knock on the door of our host. We are shown our own room and rest there for a couple of hours.

Sheldon and Gudrun are amazing hosts and show great hospitality. They invite us for dinner that night, and we discuss our mission over a glass of wine. They understand what we are doing, and it obviously calls back their own memories. They tell us about their life as global citizens, with him being a professor of sociology at Gaborone for the last decade, after they had lived in Papua New Guinee for another decade, traveled all around Africa and many other places. We listen to their stories breathlessly and hope to be such a nice couple ourselves once we make it to seventy.

We ask for Causes, and Sheldon happens to run a shelter for abused women that has several activities we could sponsor. We decide to do that first thing in the morning.
